Blue Group - the movie...now the backstory.

Frederic DeLis was a child prodigy Classical concert pianist who was the major support of his family in an adult-style career by age 7, touring as a pianist the United States,  Canada, Mexico, Cuba and Europe. By age 10, he was attending college and performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Even before age 18, recruiters from the Defense Department met secretly with the young pianist. They wanted him to "join up" …playing the piano could be his cover. They asked him to become a spy.

Give up a promising career in music, for a world career of another sort? Why would he do such a thing?

He did join up, first with the CIA, and then with the NSA. No one has ever come forward to describe the realities of their work in the National Security Agency. But here he is, Frederic DeLis, living his life as an agent, operator and officer in a career that would span 47 years. Learn about Frederic DeLis and you will be up close to the people who were really there. These people were not information gatherers. They were problem solvers, called in to situations where others had failed. That was Blue Group - "Reds follow orders, Blues find the answers," with creative problemsolving. Though, some people might call this movie a love story.

Only three years into his career, Frederic met Tamiko (Tami) Sakharova; they would be partners for 36 years - "Longer than most good marriages," he would say. An important note here: Tami's cousin was Andrei Sakharov, designer of Russia's hydrogen bomb who, later in life, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. In the movie, you will meet Andrei Sakharov.

Even though no one stopped the publication of my book, some people say I shouldn’t be telling such things - our country‘s history should remain a secret…but look, "That’s my job, that’s what I do. Don’t shoot the messenger." I just deliver the information.
